Warner Bros. released its highly-anticipated sequel The Hangover Part II at midnight last night, which brought moviegoers out in droves. The comedy took in a whopping $10.4 million from those midnight screenings.

The Hangover Part II was screened in approximately 2,600 theaters starting last night. The Hangover Part II now debuts in 3,615 theaters today, which sets a new record for the widest R-rated release ever.

There are several different estimates on how The Hangover Part II will perform over the long Memorial Day holiday weekend. Warner Bros. is projecting a five-day estimate of $100 million, while others believe it will gross north of $125 million. It is estimated that The Hangover Part II will make between $80 million and $85 million during the Friday-Sunday frame.
