The Gotham Group has picked up feature rights to Marty Beckerman's self-published book "The Heming Way: How to Unleash the Booze-Inhaling, Animal-Slaughtering, War-Glorifying, Hairy-Chested, Retro-Sexual Legend Within ... Just Like Papa!"

The book is a tongue-in-cheek ode to Ernest Hemingway, who Beckerman sarcastically praises for being a drunken, misogynistic, self-proclaimed war hero who'd kill himself all over again if he met today's metrosexual male.

"Every single publisher in New York turned me down," said Marty Beckerman. "They all said, nobody cares about Hemingway, and that young people don't even know who he is anymore, but I disagree."

The book became the top-selling parody on Amazon over the holiday weekend, bumping down Max Brooks' "Zombie Survival Guide" and Seth Grahame-Smith's "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies."

No production date has been set.
