Get ready for your favorite immortal back on the silver screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Summitt Entertainment has acquired the rights to the 1986 feature film The Highlander for a brand new remake. Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway have signed on the write the remake.

The Highlander starred Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery and spawned a franchise that included four film sequels and three television series.

Summitt acquired the rights from Davis/Panzer Productions and Peter Davis, one of the original producers on the first film, will produce the remake as well.

No production schedule was announced.
