On Sunday, Peter Jackson held a live Q&A for the Blu-ray release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, where he talked about the home video debut as well as offering an exclusive extended preview of this December's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. We have the video from this event, where the director offers up plenty of new details about the next two installments in this prequel trilogy, including a tease of the Elvish stronghold of Thranduil's realm in Mirkwood. There is also set footage of Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and the new character Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly) in action. We also get to see behind-the-scenes footage of Lake Town, and even a scene from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Check it all out in the hour long video from the event, which ends with Peter Jackson promising a trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will arrive sometime this summer.
