Earlier today we reported that Warner Bros. signed a 20-picture deal with IMAX and the press release revealed that The Hobbit would come out at the end of 2013. Now Heat Vision Blog is reporting that The Hobbit is actually set for a release at the end of 2012.

It was said that the The Hobbit will be released in December 2012 with The Hobbit Sequel to hit theaters in December 2013. The site reported that the studio had originally planned a 2011 release, but it was said that, "the project was taking a bit longer than anticipated" and it seems the studio has decided on the 2012 date.

The site also reported that the script for the second film was completed and turned in a few weeks ago. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any new status updates on The Hobbit films as soon as we have more information.
