Nine years after making his feature directorial debut with The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, Tommy Lee Jones returns to direct and star in the Western The Homesman, which doesn't have a release date set at this time. The first trailer and five photos have debuted from this adaptation of The Shootist author Glendon Swarthout's novel, which follows George Briggs (Tommy Lee Jones), a claim jumper who is given a daunting task by a pioneer woman (Hilary Swank) to escort three crazed young women (Grace Gummer, Miranda Otto and Sonja Richter) from Nebraska to Iowa. Meryl Streep, Hailee Steinfeld, John Lithgow, Tim Blake Nelson, James Spader, William Fichtner and Jesse Plemons co-star in this upcoming drama, which doesn't have a domestic release date at this time.
