Lionsgate has announced that its highly-anticipated adaptation of The Hunger Games has added newcomers Dayo Okeniyi and Amandla Stenberg to the cast.

Dayo Okeniyi and Amandla Stenberg will play Thresh and Rue, the "tributes" from District 11. The story revolves around a boy and girl "tribute" chosen from each of America's 12 districts, who are forced to compete to the death in a nationally-televised event known as The Hunger Games. They join a cast that already includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth.

Gary Ross is directing The Hunger Games from a script by Billy Ray, which is adapted from the Suzanne Collins novel.
