After a lengthy post-production process, the Cary Elwes-led superhero comedy movie The Hyperions will finally soon see a release. As reported by Deadline, the film was previously acquired by Saban Films last summer before The Daily Wire picked up the domestic rights. The website will make The Hyperions available to its subscribers on March 10, 2022, and you can watch the first trailer below.

The official synopsis for The Hyperions reads: "Famous, beloved, and endowed with unique superpowers by Professor Ruckus Mandulbaum’s (Cary Elwes, The Princess Bride) 'Titan badges,' the young trio of superheroes were adored and admired for their courageous, globe hopping actions. But over the years, as egos bruised and resentments developed, the professor replaced the team with newer members. Years later, two of the original teen crime-fighters want their powers restored and they’ll stop at almost nothing to get them back. The Hyperions is a fantastically fun superhero action comedy throwback."

Along with Elwes, The Hyperions stars Penelope Mitchell (Hellboy), Tanner Buchanan (Cobra Kai), Elaine Tan (Tully), Indi Star (Charmers), and Alphonso McAuley (Walk of Shame). Jon McDonald (Muddy Corman) wrote, directed, and produced the film via American Millimetre. Justin Bell of Justin Bell Productions and Jon Michael Kondrath at ReKon Productions also produced.

“Director Jon McDonald is a true auteur, and The Hyperions is one of the most original films I’ve seen," says The Daily Wire co-founder and co-CEO Jeremy Boreing. "It’s a movie about pride, family, and reconciliation – values we all share regardless of our politics. It’s a perfect movie for Daily Wire, even though I doubt anyone involved in making it listens to The Ben Shapiro Show. I consider it a privilege to bring this film to our audience.”

It was back in early 2019 when The Hyperions was filmed, and at this point, it was getting to where those involved with the movie had no idea when it would be released. Indi Star spoke with Pop City Life about how excited she was for it to finally get a release date.

"I am so excited," Star said. "I filmed it in February of 2019. I thought it was going to take such a long time for it to come out. My one friend said she filmed a movie when she was 3 and it came out a couple of months ago. I was like, 'Oh gosh, I’m going to wait forever.' They just told us the release date. I’m so excited because that’s so soon."

Of her character, Star added, "I don’t know if I can say the name but I play a younger version of Penelope Mitchell. I have super powers. I’m a Superhero in it. It was so much fun to play. That was the role that I knew I wanted to do acting for the rest of my life. It was such a fun experience. I don’t know how much I can spoil! I don’t know if I can say what superpowers I have."

The Hyperions will be released on March 10, 2022, by The Daily Wire.
