Paramount Pictures is lining up an American theatrical version of the hit British TV series The Inbetweeners, bringing on series creator Iain Morris to write and direct.

The series debuted in 2008 and follows the lives of four suburban teenagers, whose are stuck in the middle of their high school's popularity spectrum. The series has already spawned the U.K. theatrical comedy The Inbetweeners, the highest-grossing British comedy in history, which will be released in the U.S. September 7.

MTV is also debuting an American version of the show dubbed Inbetweeners on August 20, starring Joey Pollari, Bubba Lewis, Zack Pearlman and Mark L. Young.

The comedy is currently untitled, which may indicate a move away from The Inbetweeners title. No production schedule was given.
