Captain George Stacy is returning to the New York City Police Department. Per TVLine, The Amazing Spider-Man actor Denis Leary has signed on to play a recurring character in Law & Order: Organized Crime's second season. Leary will play Frank Donnelly, a cop with the NYPD who will interact with Christopher Meloni's Detective Elliot Stabler.

Leary is no stranger to playing a first responder on television. In addition to his experience as Captain Stacy in 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man, he previously appeared as a New York cop in ABC's single-camera sitcom The Job, which ran from 2001 to 2002. Then, of course, he not only co-created FX's Rescue Me but for seven seasons, he also played the lead role of Tommy Gavin, a member of the FDNY dealing with family dysfunction and alcoholism in a post-9/11 New York. Leary was also the executive producer of the documentary Burn: One Year on the Front Lines of the Battle to Save Detroit, chronicling the struggles of the Detroit Fire Department. The documentary won the Audience Award at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival.

Law & Order: OC Season 2

Law & Order: OC
NBC

Created by Emmy Award-winning producer Dick Wolf, Law & Order: Organized Crime marked Detective Stabler's return to the franchise after more than ten years away. As an original cast member on Law & Order: SVU, Meloni first played the role of the sexy detective, whose ability to catch the "perp" each week acts as a soul balm to so many people who cannot find justice elsewhere. Suffering the devastating personal loss of his wife Kathy, Detective Stabler returns to the Organized Crime Control Bureau (OCCB), ready to dismantle New York City's most vicious and violent illegal enterprises. For law nerds wanting to know the real-world basis for a unit like the OCCB, Detective Stabler and his team of officers will likely use the RICO statute, or Title 18 of the United States Code, Section 1961(4), and the Continuing Criminal Enterprise statute, or Title 21 of the United States Code, Section 848(c)(2), as the basis for most of the show's takedowns.

Law & Order: OC is now in its second season. Danielle Moné Truitt, who plays Stabler's sergeant and partner, Ayanna Bell, is returning for the second season. Sgt. Bell leads the organized crime task force using her knowledge of underground crime syndicates and a long-game strategy to take them down from the inside. Also returning is UNC School of the Arts graduate Ainsley Seiger, who plays the observant and deceivingly intelligent tech-expert and hacker Jet Slootmaekers on the series.

Additionally, many new faces are joining the force with the new season, including Ron Cephas Jones (Luke Cage) as Congressman Leon Kilbride, Guillermo Diaz (Scandal) as Sgt. Bill Brewster, Mykelti Williamson (Forrest Gump) as Preston Webb, and Dash Mihok (Ray Donovan) as Reggie Bogdani. As also reported by TVLine last week, Jennifer Beals (The L Word) is also joining Law & Order: Organized Crime in a recurring role, the yet-to-be-named wife of Williamson's drug kingpin and Marcy Corporation head.
