Warner Bros. has been teasing fans with tidbits about Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight for months now. There have been hints given in interviews, and several viral marketing games across the Internet. All of which has served to increase fan's appetite for the first time they will see Ledger on the big screen as the Clown Prince of Crime.

Now, the first scene with the Joker in The Dark Knight has been revealed. Latino Review has obtained inside-information describing the scene:

The Dark Knight begins with the Joker robbing a huge bank (we've seen photos of this everywhere). The bank is where the mob and all the gangs in Gotham keep all of their money. The Joker takes this money and holds it ransom. The Joker then says to the mob and the gangs of Gotham, "If you help me take down Batman, you'll get your money back. If not, I'm going to burn it all." This is how the Joker assembles his army to take down Batman.

The scene sounds pretty intense. It also seems possible that the Joker's line of dialogue from the teaser trailer "Starting tonight... people will die. I'm a man of my word," could come from this initial scene.

The Dark Knight hits theatres July 18, 2008.
