The first poster for The Killing Season 3 reveals that AMC's hit drama is about to introduce a new serial killer, and from the looks of things, s/he's already claimed seventeen victims.

The Killing Season 3

AMC's Executive VP of Marketing Linda Schupack explains that this will be a more realistic and grounded look at the serial murder genre.

"We really wanted to reach out and grab people. We wanted the ad to be graphic and bold and stylish. The story is about a serial killer, but at the same time we also wanted to capture the humanity of the story, which I think sets it apart from other cop dramas. You really feel for the characters, particularly the victims."

With this latest season of The Killing, which AMC is producing in conjunction with Netflix, the network is resetting the show, with Sarah Linden (Mireille Enos) returning to the Seattle homicide division after having quit in the aftermath of the Rosie Larsen case. She joins her old partner Holder (Joel Kinnaman) to track down a killer targeting street kids. Unlike the first two seasons, which revolved around one single murder, this new case will be wrapped up at the end of The Killing Season 3 and will involve at least 17 murders...And counting.

The Killing Season 3 is set to debut on June 2.
