Paramount has released some brand-new images from their upcoming action-adventure The Lost City. Formerly titled The Lost City of D, the film stars Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum in the lead roles, with Daniel Radcliffe as the antagonist. Brad Pitt also appears in an extended cameo. The Lost City was recently moved a month back to March from its April 2022 release date, and it seems like the promotional campaign has been fast-tracked. The two leads, Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, recently gave an interview to Entertainment Weekly, talking about Daniel Radcliffe’s insane villain, Brad Pitt’s scene-stealing cameo, and much more. The Lost City follows a reclusive romance novelist Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock) on a book tour with her cover model, Alan (Channing Tatum), who gets swept up in a kidnapping attempt that lands her and Alan in a cutthroat jungle adventure. Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe plays an eccentric billionaire named Fairfax who thinks Sage can lead him to the fictional treasure from her story. Bullock is all praise for Radcliffe’s performance, saying, "He's so crazy handsome and devious. I don't know how to explain him. But you wouldn't think that he plays sinister so beautifully and calmly and in such an attractive way. He's going to really surprise people." said Bullock to EW. Well, it's about time someone recognized Radcliffe’s ability to play multilayered characters.

The Lost City is billed as an action-adventure in a similar vein to Romancing the Stone. But one thing to note is that it’s not related to Percy Fawcett’s 1925 expedition to find The Lost City, "Z". Instead, the film takes a somewhat meta approach to storytelling, breaking stereotypes and breathing new life into the jungle adventure genre.

That's what's so much fun about it, you can take old setups and easily make them new. And the fun thing about the male-female narrative is that now we can turn it on its ear because it's no longer, 'This is the woman's role. This is the man's role.' You can mess with all of that and create a whole new dynamic. And that's sort of what we did.

The Lost City is directed by Aaron and Adam Nee (The Last Romantic). The duo also wrote the film with Oren Uziel and Dana Fox from a story by Seth Gordon. The film also stars Patti Harrison (Together Together), Oscar Nunez (The Office), and Da'Vine Joy Randolph (High Fidelity). In addition, Brad Pitt stars in an action-packed cameo that will be one of the highlights of the film. "And we let him. He just came in, and he tore it up. He's really funny," Bullock said. The pair will also appear together in David Leitch’s Bullet Train, releasing next summer.

Both Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock call The Lost City an exercise in escapism, promising action, heart, and humor to the fullest. The Lost City will release in theaters on March 25, 2022. Stay tuned, for a trailer will be out any day now.
