A brand new trailer for The Mandalorian has been revealed by Disney and Lucasfilm. This serves as the first ever live-action TV show set within the Star Wars universe, and it's been a long time coming. Now, with just a couple of weeks left until the series premiere, the veil has been pulled back and we've been treated to a closer look at all of the bounty hunting goodness that awaits Disney+ subscribers and fans of a galaxy far, far away next month.

Lucasfilm previously teased that the new trailer was on the way and delivered the fresh look at the show as promised. A trailer had previously been released in August during Disney's D23 Expo, which gave fans a taste of what to expect. Though, compared to what had been shown at Star Wars Celebration in April, it was a mere morsel. This trailer, fortunately, gives us a little more to chew on. But this is Star Wars we're talking about and they're only going to give away so much, as the powers that be would rather let the mystery unfold for the viewer.

The Mandalorian takes place after Return of the Jedi and before The Force Awakens. It centers on a lone gunslinger (Pedro Pascal) who is operating in the Outer Rim. This particular time period has hardly been explored on-screen and, as such, is ripe with storytelling opportunities. Author Chuck Wendig explored this era in his Aftermath novel series, but beyond that, there is much to learn about these years in the franchise timeline. This will also be moving further away from Force users and the grand power struggle in the galaxy, as we'll be dealing with bounty hunters, getting to the heart of the scum and villainy side of things.

Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Lion King) serves as writer and executive producer of the series. Dave Filoni, the man behind The Clone Wars and Rebels animated shows, also serves as an executive producer and directed the pilot. Other directors include Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Deborah Chow (Better Call Saul), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates). The cast includes Gina Carano (Deadpool), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Rocky), Omid Abtahi (American Gods) Nick Nolte (Angel Has Fallen) and legendary German filmmaker/actor Werner Herzog.

This is just the first Star Wars show that will make its way to Disney+. Lucasfilm is also developing a Rogue One prequel show centered on Diego Luna's Cassian Andor, as well as an Obi-Wan Kenobi series that will see Ewan McGregor reprising his role as the Jedi from the prequels. Plus, the final season of The Clone Wars will be hitting the streaming service in February 2020. The Mandalorian season 1 consists of eight episodes, with a second season already well underway. The Mandalorian is set to debut on November 12 on Disney+.
