Steve Carell's last day on The Office, April 28, is rapidly approaching, with speculation still rampant over who will be his permanent successor. Three more candidates have been added into the mix, with Ray Romano, James Spader, and Catherine Tate set to guest star on The Office Season 7 finale on May 19.

Last month, we reported that Will Arnett and Ricky Gervais will guest star on the season finale as potential replacements for Steve Carell's Michael Scott. Now Ray Romano, James Spader, and Catherine Tate are added into the mix, although Ray Romano is an unlikely choice since he is locked in for the TNT series Men of a Certain Age. NBC would not officially comment on the news.

The Office will return with new episodes next week on Thursday, April 14, which will mark the start of a guest-starring arc by Will Ferrell, who plays the temporary replacement of Michael Scott. He will appear in four episodes on April 14, April 21, April 28 and May 5.

Right now, all that is known for certain is that Steve Carell's permanent replacement will be announced during The Office Season 7 finale, an hour-long episode set to air on May 19 at 9 PM ET on NBC.
