The Office: Season FiveA hot TV comedy gets a rare win for TV DVD on the home video charts this week. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Office: Season Five took the top spot on the national DVD sales charts, for the week ending September 13. While it rarely happens that a TV set debuts atop the sales charts, the NBC hit had a rather commanding lead, selling 32% more than its nearest competitor, fellow new release Crank 2: High Voltage, in second place.
Crank 2: High Voltage also had to settle for second place on the rental charts as well, with last week's top rental, State of Play, repeating atop the rental charts. But the Neveldine/Taylor action sequel did secure a victory in high-definition.
Crank 2: High Voltage was the top-selling Blu-ray disc of the week, with a healthy 22% of the film's total sales coming in the BD format. The new Sapphire Edition of Gladiator took second place on the BD charts.
