According to The Hollywood Reporter, it was a heated battle for first place on the DVD sales and rental charts the week ending November 27 as two new high-powered releases competed for consumer dollars over the four-day Thanksgiving holiday and its fabled "Black Friday" shopping frenzy. In the end, Warner Home Video's Polar Express which grossed $162.8 million during last year's holiday season, nabbed the top spot on VideoScan's First Alert DVD sales chart.

DreamWorks Home Entertainment's War of the Worlds -- with more than $234 million in theatrical earnings -- finished second.
