Stephen Dorff (Blade), Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild), and Gigi Zumbado (Criminal Minds) star in The Price We Pay, a thriller from Lionsgate that follows a hostage situation in the aftermath of a pawnshop robbery gone wrong. When forced to hide out at a farmhouse, a dungeon is found with traces of sadistic violence, forcing the hostage to do everything they can to escape the fate of her kidnappers.
The Price We Pay is directed by Ryuhei Kitamura (The Midnight Meat Train) and available on VOD on January 10 ahead of its January 13 limited theatrical release. Rounding out the cast are Tyler Sanders, Erika Ervin, Jesse Kinser, Sabina Mach, Vernon Wells, and Tanner Zagarino.

The green band trailer for The Price We Pay wastes no time as two criminals enter a pawnshop with guns blazing, shooting any employee who gets in their way. We jump to a duffel bag being filled with money from the safe before another employee is shot. Another tries to make a run for it out the back of the shop but is quickly cut off by one of the mask-wearing criminals. “You’re coming with us,” he says and takes her hostage.
The criminals remove their masks as they drive away and become identifiable by the hostage. The three travel some ways before their car breaks down, forcing them to continue on foot toward a farmhouse to hide out the rest of the night. They target what they believe to be an empty barn but come across a young man. “Why are you all alone,” they ask. “My Grandpa is running errands,” he replies. We then jump to the discovery of the dungeon and the unwinding of their gory fate.
