Actress Rosemarie DeWitt has signed on to star in The Promised Land for Focus Features and director Gus Van Sant.

We reported back in February that Gus Van Sant signed on, and that stars Matt Damon and John Krasinski are rewriting the original script by Dave Eggers (Where the Wild Things Are), which was titled Gold Mist. The story centers on a sales executive (Matt Damon) who begins to question his life when he is called to a small town on business. John Krasinski will play Matt Damon's corporate rival.

It isn't known what character Rosemarie DeWitt will play in The Promised Land, which is being produced by Chris Moore. No production schedule was released for The Promised Land.

Rosemarie DeWitt will next be seen in Your Sister's Sister (June 15) and Neighborhood Watch (July 27).
