The ProposalIn a battle of three summer films new to DVD this week, the romantic comedy beat them all on the DVD charts. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Proposal topped the national DVD sales charts, for the week ending October 18.

The Sandra Bullock/Ryan Reynolds romantic comedy also took the top spot on the DVD rental charts as well, but two other new films fared well also. The Will Ferrell comedy Land of the Lost took third place on the DVD sales charts, behind last week's winner Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and second place on the rental charts behind The Proposal. The Sam Raimi horror film Drag Me to Hell opened with a fourth place finish in DVD sales and fifth in rentals.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs repeated as the top-selling Blu-ray disc for the second week in a row, but the big news was for a DVD that just came out yesterday. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hit the DVD shelves on Tuesday and it was reported that 2 million units were sold in the first 24 hours of release.
