We are weeks away from the debut of The Rehearsal, the mysterious new series from Nathan for You star Nathan Fielder. Not very much has been revealed about the HBO Max series so far, but earlier this week, Fielder posted to Twitter a first look at the series with the announcement that it was coming "very soon." He has now shared the official poster for The Rehearsal featuring himself at the dinner table with a family of dummies, and with it comes the announcement that The Rehearsal debuts on July 15, 2022.

Previously, Fielder had released a 30-second first look teaser, but the video footage also did not reveal very much about The Rehearsal. A home can be seen under surveillance in the teaser as Fielder paces, with nobody saying a word throughout the entire clip. Fielder has managed to generate a lot of interest in the series by keeping exactly what his plans are for it a secret, but for those familiar with his previous show on Comedy Central, it's safe to presume that it will be unique and likely hysterical.

Fielder executive produces the series in addition to writing, directing, and starring. You can read an official synopsis below.

“With a construction crew, a legion of actors, and seemingly unlimited resources, Fielder allows ordinary people to prepare for life’s biggest moments by ‘rehearsing’ them in carefully crafted simulations of his own design. When a single misstep could shatter your entire world, why leave life to chance?”

Nathan Fielder may be best known for creating and starring in the Comedy Central series Nathan for You. The four-season series followed Fielder as he offered outlandish ideas to improve business at struggling establishments, sometimes with unexpected results. The series did well for Comedy Central and the network had wanted to move forward with a fifth season, but Fielder opted to venture into new creative territory, opting to end the series to focus on new endeavors.

In 2019, Fielder signed a deal with HBO to develop new content, and The Rehearsal is one of the projects to come out of that pact. Through the deal, Fielder has also been executive producing the docuseries How To... With John Wilson, which previously premiered in 2020. The series follows John Wilson providing tutorials to the viewers, attempting to give advice amid dealing with his own personal problems. Some of the topics covered include making small talk, putting up scaffolding, covering furniture, investing in real estate, and remembering your dreams. The series has since aired two seasons and was renewed for season 3 earlier this year.

The Rehearsal starts streaming on HBO Max on July 15, 2022. You can also watch How To... with John Wilson on the streaming service. Season 3 of that series doesn't yet have a release date.
