Just as well, as they did with the last film, Sony is offering artsist a chance at creating a poster for the film...

Following the success of the poster contest for the first Resident Evil, amateur artists will again have the opportunity to design the official poster for an upcoming release. Screen Gems and Play Magazine invited fans today to create the poster for RESIDENT EVIL: Apocalypse, the sequel to the $100 million worldwide hit based on the best selling video game series. RESIDENT EVIL: Apocalypse will be released nationwide on September 10, 2004.

Screen Gems and Play Magazine will invite contestants to create up to three poster designs, which they will then submit online from May 10th through June 30th. Assets (photography stills from the film, title treatments and the billing block) will be posted online at the official RESIDENT EVIL: Apocalypse website, www.RE2.com, which will provide links that will enable contestants to build their posters electronically.

Five finalists will be announced at San Diego Comic-Con on July 24th. Their artwork will be posted online at www.RE2.com, where they will be voted on by the worldwide web audience. Votes will be tallied and the winning poster will be announced on August 2. The grand-prize winner will receive a cash prize of $2,500, free movie passes and possible nationwide exposure of their poster in theaters everywhere.

RESIDENT EVIL: Apocalypse is again based on the wildly popular video game series and picks up where the first film ended. Alice (MILLA JOVOVICH) returns to Raccoon City and joins forces with Jill Valentine (SIENNA GUILLORY) and Carlos Oliviera (ODED FEHR) to try to eliminate the deadly virus that threatens to make every human being undead?and to seek justice. Since being captured by the Umbrella Corporation, Alice has been subjected to biogenic experimentation and become genetically altered, with super-human strengths, senses and dexterity. These skills, and more, will be needed if anyone is to remain alive.

RESIDENT EVIL: Apocalypse is directed by Alexander Witt, and written and produced by Paul W.S. Anderson, along with Jeremy Bolt and Don Carmody. Executive producers are Bernd Eichinger, Samuel Hadida, Robert Kulzer and Victor Hadida.
