Yesterday, The Rise of Skywalker characters posters arrived. With a few missing exceptions. But one of those holes has been filled. Rose Tico now has her own character poster from The Rise of Skywalker. However, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa still don't have their own. Disney and Lucasfilm sent out the character posters yesterday, but Tico was not originally included, though it is unclear why. It might have just been an easy mistake, but Star Wars fans took notice and wondered once again, 'Where's Rose?'. Some speculate that Rose may not play a big part in the action, but actress Kelly Marie Tran says she is intergral to the plot.
The Rise of Skywalker character posters include Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Chewie (Joonas Suotamo), C-3PO (Anthony Daniels), R2-D2 (Jimmy Vee), BB-8 (Brian Herring), Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Jannah (Naomi Ackie), Zorli Bliss (Kerri Russell), Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), and D-O. A follow-up International The Rise of Skywalker poster did give us a very small glimpse at Rose, along with the first indication that Porgs will be present. But some fans are still wondering where the posters are for Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa. We've seen Leia in the promotional material before like the trailers, but she does not have her own character poster yet.
It is assumed that Luke Skywalker will be a Force Ghost in The Rise of Skywalker, so they might be keeping that aspect under wraps, which makes sense. As for the initial lack of Kelly Marie Tran's Rose Tico, she has her own poster now.
When the initial Star Wars merchandise for The Rise of Skywalker was released, there was a notable absence of Rose Tico. This launched a social media flury asking #WheresRose. Since then, Disney and Lucasfilm have been releasing more Rose Tico for the fans who enjoyed Kelly Marie Tran's performance.
It's not clear how big of a part Rose Tico will have in The Rise of Skywalker. There are new characters, returning characters, and a lot going on. And as the character posters show us, the newer characters are going to be the main focus. Regardless, we're now less than a month away from the movie hitting theaters and most Star Wars fans are excited to see how it's all going to end. J.J. Abrams is taking the Skywalker Saga and bringing it to a close and everybody is curious to see how it's all going to end and what it means for the future of the franchise. The Rise of Skywalker posters can be found at the official Star Wars site.
