A new TV spot for The Rise of Skywalker has been released with a ton of new footage. J.J. Abrams and crew seemed to want to put the spotlight on some of the villains in our latest look at the final installment in the Skywalker Saga. The Sith Troopers and The Knights of Ren are on full display as the Emperor says, "Your journey nears its end." The journey for fans nears its end too, and the latest look at the movie makes that all the more evident.

The Sith Troopers are only seen for a brief moment in The Rise of Skywalker TV spot, but they look formidable. It's unclear where their battle scenes were shot, but it looks like they are on a Star Destroyer like the Resistance is spotted on in previous promotional material. As for The Knights of Ren, they are spotted in a desert terrain, which is more than likely the new planet Pasaana. It could very well be a return to Jakku, though it is uncertain if the highly anticipated sequel returns to Rey's home planet.

J.J. Abrams and Chris Terrio wrote the story for The Rise of Skywalker, which was based on the story that Colin Trevorrow had already written. Trevorrow decided to leave the project over creative differences when Disney and Lucasfilm ordered rewrites. While we don't know what Trevorrow's story would have been, we do know that Abrams is the one responsible for bringing Emperor Palpatine back into the trilogy, which Trevorrow believes was a great idea. Star Wars fans seem to agree, since the hype for the movie is off the charts.

The Rise of Skywalker marks the end of the Skywalker Saga. Lucasfilm and Disney will be concentrating on movies outside of the normal realm for the time being, which is something that most fans should be excited about. The Mandalorian is proving to be a huge hit with even the most negative of fans, which bodes well for the franchise moving forward. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will definitely be overseeing more Star Wars projects in the future, since they have been the ones to tap into something universal.

The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20th and The Mandalorian wraps up a week after. With that being said, there have been a lot of fan theories connecting the two projects together. The rumors have been fueled by the fact that Disney+ is releasing two episodes in one week, with one coming the Wednesday before The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters. Is there a connection? There probably is, though we shouldn't expect to see Baby Yoda there when the time comes.
