Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has shared a behind-the-scenes peek at the ongoing reshoots for his upcoming DC outing, Black Adam. Taking to Twitter, the actor gives us another look at his black-and-gold superhero suit, as he strides on to set ready to change the hierarchy of power in the DC universe forever. You can check out the clip below.

“Now the fun part…We go to work,” The Rock says in a caption alongside the footage. "The wolf is always scratchin’ #ManInBlack #BlackAdam In theaters worldwide October 21st.” As expected, The Rock cuts a suitably intimidating figure as the titular antihero. His giant back taking up most of the image, Johnson purposefully marches forward, ready to put the finishing touches on a movie that has been in development since as far back as 2006.

There is a reason why The Rock has stayed attached to Black Adam for so long, with the actor believing that he was born to play the role. "I started training for Black Adam when I came out of the womb,” the actor said recently. “I believe I was born to play this character. But in all honesty, this project has been with me for 10 ten years now. The process began when we started to stand the material up and really developed it into what it is present day. Once the start date was agreed on by our Seven Bucks production company, the rest of my team, Warner Bros. Studio, and DC Comics, I started to build an exhaustive training program with my coach Dave Rienzi. I wanted to come into this in the best shape of my career."

Reshoots on Black Adam are now underway, with Johnson since stating that it is "Great to be back on set of BLACK ADAM with our 750+ talented crew of filmmakers as we gear up to put some final details and last touches on our movie before we lock and deliver." Regarding his superhero physique, Johnson said, "I've dialed in my diet and training intensity for weeks now to prepare, so I'm feeling good and in the zone." Judging by this backstage footage, all that dialing in and intensity has clearly worked.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a screenplay by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani, Black Adam will introduce Dwayne Johnson as Teth-Adam AKA Black Adam, a man from Kahndaq who was imprisoned for 5,000 years. Chosen by the wizard Shazam to harness the powers of the ancient Egyptian Gods, S for the stamina of Shu, H for the swiftness of Horus, A for the strength of Amon, Z for the wisdom of Zehuti, A for the power of Aten, and M for the courage of Mehen. Freed from his earthly tomb, Black Adam emerges ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

Alongside the titular antihero, Black Adam will also introduce audiences to the superhero team The Justice Society of America. Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan will make up the team, with producer Hiram Garcia teasing the violent battles between the JSA and Black Adam to come.

Black Adam is scheduled to be released on July 29, 2022.
