The story follows a 100-year-old woman who has been locked away in a mental institution since WWII. A psychiatrist decides to piece together the woman's past, and discovers her diary hidden under the floorboards in her bedroom.
Jessica Chastain and Vanessa Redgrave will alternate between the young and old versions of the woman, in this drama that deals with the scars left on Presbyterian women during Ireland's own civil war, and the harsh abuse this particular woman faced at the hands of an enraged priest.
