Blake Lively, Jude Law, and Channing Tatum have joined the cast of The Side Effects for director Steven Soderbergh.

The story centers on Emily Hawkins (Blake Lively), a young woman who becomes dependent on prescription drugs out of fear her husband will be released from prison soon. Channing Tatum will play the husband, and Jude Law will portray Emily's new therapist.

We reported last month that Summit Entertainment was financing The Side Effects, which was known as The Bitter Pill at the time. Summit has pulled out of the project, but Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures is in talks to finance The Side Effects.

Steven Soderbergh is directing from a screenplay by Scott Z. Burns (Contagion). Production is scheduled to begin on The Side Effects in April.
