Director David O. Russell is searching for a leading lady to star opposite Mark Wahlberg in The Silver Linings Playbook. Actresses such as Elizabeth Banks, Kirsten Dunst, Blake Lively, Rooney Mara, Rachel McAdams, Andrea Riseborough, and Olivia Wilde are said to be reading for the drama.

The story centers around Mark Wahlberg's character, Pat Peoples, a man who has been recently released from a mental institution. He goes on a journey of self-discovery to find the "silver linings" in life. The female lead is a recently widowed woman who goes on a sexual binge, and ultimately befriends Pat Peoples.

Testing for the role will start today and run throughout the weekend. Jennifer Lawrence is also rumored to be testing for the role, although that is not confirmed. We reported earlier this month that Angelina Jolie had met with director David O. Russell for this role. It isn't know if Angelina Jolie is still a contender.

David O. Russell will direct The Silver Linings Playbook from a screenplay he adapted from the novel by Matthew Quick. Production is slated to begin in August.
