Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions have picked up U.S. distribution rights to Craig Johnson's comedy The Skeleton Twins. Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions group also picked up rights to the film outside the U.S.

Craig Johnson and Mark Heyman co-wrote this comedy about two estranged siblings, who are reunited after a crisis forces them to return to their small home town together. Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, Luke Wilson, and Ty Burrell star in the project.

Roadside Attractions Co-President Howard Cohen had this to say about the project.

"Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig give brilliant, breakout performances as a live wire but also out-of-control brother and sister who have to reconnect, and we fell in love with Craig Johnson's amazingly assured film."

Craig Johnson previously directed True Adolescents, which stars Mark Duplass and Melissa Leo. That project premiered at the 2009 SXSW Film Festival.

Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions are expecting a theatrical release for the feature film in late summer 2014.
