It seems Warner Bros. is setting up a new take of Alexandre Dumas' legendary story. Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. is shepherding a new The Three Musketeers film, with Sherlock Holmes producer Lionel Wigram.

The film will be written by The Men Who Stare At Goats screenwriter Peter Straughan and will focus on sexier elements of the story while playing up the action as well, much like Wigram did with Sherlock Holmes.

No director or cast have come aboard as of yet. Paul W.S. Anderson is also developing a 3D version of The Three Musketeers for German-based Constantin.
