Directors Bobby Farrelly and Peter Farrelly may have finally found their last Stooge for The Three Stooges, with Chris Diamantopoulos now the front runner to play Moe.

It isn't known if a formal offer has been made to Chris Diamantopoulos yet, although it seems the directors have made their choice after looking at thousands of actors for the Moe part. Actors such as Hank Azaria and Johnny Knoxville have previously been mentioned in connection with the Moe role. Will Sasso is locked in to play Curly while Sean Hayes is playing Larry.

Bobby Farrelly and Peter Farrelly will direct The Three Stooges from their own original screenplay. The story will be told in three separate vignettes of comedic stories centering around the Stooges.

At one point last year, The Three Stooges was locked in with Sean Penn, Jim Carrey, and Benicio Del Toro set to play The Three Stooges before the project fell apart.

Chris Diamantopoulos most recently starred in the final season of 24 as Rob Weiss and on the controversial mini-series The Kennedys.
