We reported last month that Summit Entertainment confirmed The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn would be split into two films and now it seems they're searching for a director. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Summit Entertainment has reached out to directors Sofia Coppola, Gus Van Sant and Bill Condon about directing The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

Van Sant confirmed to the site that he has been approached for the job, but the site couldn't get confirmation about Coppola's or Condon's involvement and Summit Entertainment did not return phone calls from the site as well. It was also said that screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg was expected to turn in an outline for the film next week, and a decision on the director is not expected at least until then.

We also reported in January that the film could be ready to shoot by this fall and it seems that this could be moving forward fast enough to meet that date. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any and all news about The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn as soon as we have more information.
