After just one full day out in theaters, an incredibly popular vampire sequel has broken the latest of three records already. Deadline Hollywood is reporting that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse took in an estimated $68.5 million on Wednesday, which breaks the mark for largest Wednesday opening day.

The film broke the Wednesday record set last year by Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which opened at $62 million almost exactly a year ago. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's mark includes the record-breaking $30 million the film took in from midnight screenings as well. The film also broke the record for widest opening release with 4,416 theaters.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse did fall a bit short of another record, though. The film couldn't quite surpass its predecessor, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which still holds the record for all-time opening day with a whopping $72.7 million.

We'll be sure to keep you posted with any further box office news regarding The Twilight Saga: Eclipse as soon as more figures come in.
