The Twilight Saga: New MoonWe /the-twilight-saga-new-moon-sells-over-4-million-dvd-units-in-two-days/reported a few days ago that The Twilight Saga: New Moon sold a massive 4 million units after just two days on the shelves so it's no surprise that it's atop the DVD sales charts. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Twilight Saga: New Moon took the top spot on the DVD and Blu-ray sales charts even though it was only out for just two days.

It was said the vampire sequel sold over 4 million units since its Friday night midnight release and that figure even topped the original Twilight's first two-day tally of 3.8 million units sold. In fact, Twilight itself returned to the charts, taking 16th place on the sales charts and 11th place on the Blu-ray sales charts.

The only category The Twilight Saga: New Moon didn't win was DVD rentals, which was won by the new comedy release Did You Hear About the Morgans?, although The Twilight Saga: New Moon came in second place on the rental charts. Did You Hear About the Morgans? took ninth place on the DVD sales charts.

Princess and the Frog, another new release, fared the best of the newcomers on the sales charts, taking second place in both DVD and Blu-ray sales. Princess and the Frog had 22% of its total sales come in the BD format, while The Twilight Saga: New Moon only sold 17% of its discs in the high-def format.

Amongst other new releases, Ninja Assassin took third place on both the DVD and Blu-ray sales charts, Astro Boy took seventh place on DVD sales and ninth place on Blu-ray sales and The Fourth Kind fittingly took fourth place on the DVD rental charts.
