The Devil Inside director William Brent Bell has signed on to direct The Vatican for Warner Bros.

David Cohen wrote the script, which is said to be a conspiracy-driven thriller that utilizes found-footage elements. Matthew Peterman, who co-wrote and produced The Devil Inside with William Brent Bell, is producing The Vatican.

Roy Lee, Lawrence Grey, and John Middleton are also producing for the studio. The project is said to be on the fast track, although it isn't known when production will begin.

William Brent Bell's The Devil Inside took in a whopping $34.5 million at the box office this past weekend. The film was produced on just a $1 million budget.
