The Walking Dead star Laurie Holden has signed on to play the female lead in Universal Pictures' comedy sequel Dumb and Dumber To.

The actress is playing Adele Pichlow, a doctor's wife who uses Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) and Harry Dunne (Jeff Daniels) to help cover her tracks for her evil plot. She joins a cast that also includes Kathleen Turner and Brady Bluhm. We reported last August that the story centers on Lloyd and Harry's search for one of their illegitimate children, who needs a life-saving kidney operation.

Bobby Farrelly and Peter Farrelly are directing from a screenplay by Sean Anders and John Morris. Production is scheduled to begin in the near future, although an exact start date has not been announced yet.

Laurie Holden played Andrea in the first three seasons of The Walking Dead before she was killed off towards the end of Season 3. Her feature credits include Fantastic Four, Silent Hill and Stephen King's The Mist. She also previously starred alongside Jim Carrey in the 2001 drama The Majestic.
