AMC has announced that they are pushing back The Walking Dead: World Beyond premiere until sometime later this year. The new spin-off series was set to debut April 12th. Though the show had wrapped principal photography, it is now in the post-production process for the last few episodes, which was just shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. Since the show's first season is not technically finished, and there's no way of knowing when production will start again, the network decided to move the premiere date.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond joins FX's Fargo season 4, whose April premiere also was recently postponed because of the coronavirus. The decisions come at a time when people are staying indoors and looking for new things to watch in an effort to help pass the time. A quick glance at the replies to AMC social media announcement shows that a number of The Walking Dead fans are upset with the decision to move the premiere date. However, there's not really much the network can do at this point.

Another reason AMC may have shifted The Walking Dead: World Beyond premiere date is because of monetary reasons. The stock market is plummeting because of the pandemic and companies are shifting their ad spending to the end of the year. It will be interesting to see how this all works out when all is said and done, especially since there will be a wealth of new things to watch on the big and small screen. Right now, there is a chance that the box office will see some major congestion when theaters are finally able to open their doors again.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond is set to premiere at a time when the world is going through the coronavirus pandemic. It might not be the best time to release another zombie apocalypse show, but that's just speculation. The fans definitely want to see the new show and are looking for anything new and exciting to watch while staying inside the house and social distancing from the rest of the world. Whatever the case may be, AMC will be announcing a new release date in the coming months.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond is expanding on the franchise and introducing the first generation raised of the post-apocalyptic world. The show focuses on two sisters along with two friends who leave a place of safety and comfort to brave dangers, known and unknown, living and undead on an important quest. They are pursued by those who wish to protect them and those who wish to harm them. In the end, it's a tale of growing up and transformation as it unfurls across dangerous terrain, challenging everything they know about the world, themselves and each other. In other words, it sounds perfectly like The Walking Dead. You can check out the series postponement announcement below, thanks to The Walking Dead on AMC Twitter account.
