The Weinstein Company and First Look Studios have jointly acquired worldwide rights to Plum Pictures' romantic comedy Dedication directed by Justin Theroux, which made its worldwide debut at the Sundance Film Festival. TWC and First Look will partner on the worldwide release of the film, both domestically and internationally, with Weinstein taking the lead on the US theatrical campaign on behalf of the two companies. The announcement was made by Harvey Weinstein, co-chairman of TWC, First Look Studios CEO Henry Winterstern, and Plum Pictures partners Celine Rattray, Galt Niederhoffer and Daniela Taplin Lundberg.

Theroux makes his directorial debut with Dedication, a love story in which a misanthropic, emotionally complex author of a hit children's book series (Billy Crudup) is forced to team with a beautiful illustrator (Mandy Moore) after his best friend and creative collaborator (Tom Wilkinson) passes away. "Dedication" also stars Bob Balaban and Dianne Weist and is written by David Bromberg.

Harvey Weinstein and Henry Winterstern stated, "We're thrilled to be in business with the Plum team on such a smart, commercially orientated film. We're also looking forward to making our partnership on the film a success."

Plum Pictures partner Celine Rattray commented, "We are thrilled to have found partners that are as passionate as us about Dedication, and to be in business with Harvey Weinstein for the second time in two days. First Look and The Weinstein Company understand the commercial potential for this film and have exciting plans for it."

Some of Theroux's feature film credits include Rajapur, The Legend of Lucy Keyes, The Baxter, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Duplex, Mulholland Drive, Zoolander, American Psycho, The Broken Hearts Club, Romy & Michele's High School Reunion and I Shot Andy Warhol. He is currently writing Tropic Thunder with Ben Stiller for Ben Stiller to direct and star in at Dreamworks.
