Tom Folsom hasn't even written his novel The Mad Ones yet, and it is already being picked up for a major motion picture adaptation. According to Variety, the Weinstein Company has purchased the rights to Folsom's unfinished tome.

The novel will tell the tale of the notorious Gallo Brothers, three siblings who attempted to revolt against the Profaci crime family in the 1960s. The book is being released by Weinstein Books sometime in 2009, which means they will retain the rights to the property until they make the movie.

There is no word on when production would start, or how soon a screenplay would be written. That probably won't happen until at least 2010.
