The Weinstein Company is moving into animation in a big way.

According to Variety, the new studio is teaming up with "the Jim Henson Co., Flame Ventures and Prana Studios" to form Unstable Fables.

The goal of the company is to "tell classic tales and incorporate modern twists."

The company is expecting to begin production in September with The Weinstein Company handling distribution through their home video arm Genius Products.

The screenplays for the new company will "be overseen" by Roger S.H. Schulman. Schulman was one of the writers on Shrek.
