Matthew M. Quick hasn't even published his comic novel The Silver Linings Playbook yet. Already, the Weinstein Company has snatched up the screen rights to the property. According to Variety, Sydney Pollack and Anthony Minghella will produce the film.

The graphic novel revolves around a man who, after leaving a mental institution, becomes determined to find the silver lining in his life. He remains in total denial about his wife's new husband, and decides to move back in with his parents. He also befriends a manic depressive woman who offers to act as a liaison between him and his wife.

The book will be published in early 2009. There is no word on when the Weinstein Brothers will go to work on the film.
