As reported by Deadline, Mike White's popular HBO series is headed to Thailand for the third season of The White Lotus. The first season of White Lotus was shot in Maui, Hawaii, and the second season of the series was filmed in Sicily, Italy. Now it has been confirmed by the outlet that the third season of the comedy-drama will be set in Asia.
A month ago, White Lotus executive producer David Bernad spoke to Deadline and noted that the show was optimistic about filming the third season of the series in Asia.
He said, "We've tried to work in Asia a lot and hopefully season three will be our chance to make something happen there."
White, who is not only the series creator, but also writes for the show, previously hinted at the possibility of season 3 being set in a location in Asia in a video released at the end of last season.

In the video, White stated, "The first season we highlighted money and then the second season is sex and I think the third season, it would be maybe a kind of satirical and funny look at death in Eastern religion and spirituality — it feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus."
The third season is expected to feature a brand new cast similar to the second season, which introduced plenty of new faces in addition to bringing back Jennifer Coolidge's Tanya. Still, despite Coolidge's reprisal of her character, Tanya's fate at the end of the second season could mean that her White Lotus character is gone for good.
It's also noted that the first two seasons of White Lotus were filmed at Four Seasons hotels, and if the show plans to continue this trend, there are at least four properties in the country where they can do so. This includes Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, and Four Seasons Bangkok.
At this time, the specific location for shooting the third season of White Lotus hasn't been confirmed.
While Variety was the first to break the news about the upcoming season of the popular black comedy series, HBO declined to offer the outlet any additional comments about the series.
