20th Century Fox's upcoming mutant sequel The Wolverine is scheduled to start production in Vancouver this fall. Last month, star Hugh Jackman indicated the sequel will start shooting in October, and it seems he wasn't too far off.

Production is scheduled to run between November 11 and March 1, 2012 at Canadian Motion Picture Park in Burnaby. That facility was previously used for Twilight, Fantastic Four, and the TV series Supernatural.

This news seems to confirm that plans to shoot The Wolverine in Japan have been scrapped. The story is set in Japan and features Hugh Jackman's title character searching for more clues about his origin.
