Last week, we reported that Fox's superhero sequel The Wolverine will be shot in Sydney, Australia, even though the movie is set in Japan. Today, 20th Century Fox president Tom Rothman confirmed that they will film on location in Japan.

"We're doing the stage work in Australia. The location work will be in Japan. It's set in Japan. A great number of Japanese actors will be in it and it's based on the very famous run of the comics."

Earlier today, Tom Rothman revealed production will begin in August, although it isn't known if they will shoot in Sydney or Japan first. The studio executive also commented on Hugh Jackman's commitment to this follow-up.

"The script is excellent, and Hugh Jackman is committed. He's very, very determined, and feels very personally committed to the fans. I can just tell you on behalf of him, his goal is to make the ultimate, bad ass, berserker rage Wolverine."
