Now that The Wolverine has finally found a director, with James Mangold signing on, it seems the superhero sequel might be ready to shoot later this year. Hugh Jackman revealed on a Toronto radio station that The Wolverine is gearing up for a fall shoot.

"We shoot in October, so it will probably come out a year after that. That's usually around the timeline."

When James Mangold signed on a few weeks ago, there was no indication The Wolverine would start shooting so early. It seems Fox is keen on releasing the sequel next year, which may lead to a compressed shooting and post-production schedule to get the sequel out in time.

It still isn't known where production will take place yet either. The Wolverine screenplay by Christopher McQuarrie takes place in Japan, but since the country was recently ravaged by a massive earthquake, it isn't known if they will still shoot The Wolverine on location in Japan.
