Becky is back for another blood-soaked vendetta in the first trailer for The Wrath of Becky. Released courtesy of IGN, The Wrath of Becky finds Becky star Lulu Wilson back and more than ready to dish out violence all over again. Check out the first trailer for The Wrath of Becky below.

Written and directed by Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote (The Open House), The Wrath of Becky picks up with the character “two years after she escaped a violent attack on her family,” reads the official synopsis for the action-horror sequel. “Becky attempts to rebuild her life in the care of an older woman – a kindred spirit named Elena. But when a group known as the “Noble Men” break into their home, attack them, and take her beloved dog, Diego, Becky must return to her old ways to protect herself and her loved ones.”

While the trailer for The Wrath of Becky does not give away too much, it does reveal that the title character has undergone something of a "Sarah Connor-esque" transformation for the follow-up. Having spent the last few years training and honing her natural skills for survival and violence, The Wrath of Becky could very well be even more vicious than its predecessor was back in 2020.

Becky star Lulu Wilson returns to unleash her wrath, with American Pie star Seann William Scott in tow. The rest of the cast includes the likes of Matt Angel, Courtney Gains, Aaron Dalla Villa, Michael Sirow, Denise Burse-Fernandez, Jill Larson, and Kate Siegel. The sequel is produced by Raphael Margules, JD Lifshitz, Tracy Rosenblum, Russell Posternak, and Chadd Harbold.

The Wrath of Becky Will Up the Ante

Released in 2020 and directed by Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion from a screenplay by Nick Morris, Lane Skye, and Ruckus Skye, the first Becky centers on the spunky and rebellious title character as she tries to reconnect with her father during a weekend getaway at a lakefront house. The trip soon takes a turn for the worse when convicts on the run, led by the merciless Dominick, suddenly invade the home. Becky finds comic actor Kevin James playing very much against type as a violent Neo-Nazi gang leader, while ntroducing Lulu Wilson as a far gorier version of Home Alone’s Kevin McCallister.

The Wrath of Becky producer Russ Posternak released a statement alongside the announcement of the sequel, promising that the project will up the ante. “Audiences have been asking for a Becky sequel since the film’s 2020 premiere and we’re proud to work with Quiver again to extend the franchise,” Posternak said. “Our goal was to up the ante from Becky 1 in every way imaginable and with Matt and Suz’s wild script and Seann William Scott’s turn as our terrifying villain opposite Lulu’s Becky, we know we’ll deliver the thrills, gore and heart that audiences loved in the original.”

The Wrath of Becky is set to have its world premiere at South by Southwest aka SXSW later this month, with the event commencing on Friday, March 10 and ending on Sunday, March 19, 2023.
