Paul Dano has signed to to star opposite Daniel Day-Lewis in the drama, There Will Be Blood.

The film, loosely based on Upton Sinclair's 1927 novel Oil!, is written by Paul Thomas Anderson that's a turn-of-the-century period piece; The Hollywood Reporter says will play a gifted, charismatic young preacher who captivates churchgoers. Day-Lewis portrays a tycoon who strikes it rich after gaining oil rights to a family's ranch, turning the small town where Dano's character preaches into a boomtown.

There Will Be Blood has no production schedule.
