It's been just over one month since Marvel started production on Thor: Ragnarok at Village Roadshow Studios in Australia, and since then, we've already seen a number of set videos and photos. One person we haven't seen from the set, though, is Tom Hiddleston, who has long been confirmed to return as Loki. That all changed today, when the actor shared his first photo from the set. If that wasn't enough, we also have another set photo with director Taika Waititi and executive producer Louis D'Esposito.

The Loki photo marks the first ever image from Tom Hiddleston's Instagram, so hopefully we'll be getting many more images from the set now that he has joined the social media platform. We can see that he is in fact wearing his Loki costume, but we can't see too much of it in this shot. Perhaps we'll get to see a full glimpse at his costume in the weeks and months ahead, but we'll have to wait and see. The second photo was posted on Louis D'Esposito's Twitter, giving us a glimpse at what appears to be one of the Asgard buildings in the background.

As for Loki, Tom Hiddleston has revealed in the past that this would be his last movie as the iconic villain, meaning he won't have a role in Avengers: Infinity War. That revelation isn't terribly surprising, though, since that movie will most certainly focus on the much larger threat of Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his quest to gather all of the Infinity Stones. Still, we don't know if Loki will be killed off in Thor: Ragnarok, or if there may be a potential for him to return in some capacity in Marvel Phase 4.

While no plot details have been confirmed, Loki has long been rumored to team up with the new villain, Hela (Cate Blanchett), who banishes Thor from Asgard and destroys his iconic hammer Mjolnir, according to these reports. Thor reportedly ends up on a gladiator planet, where he is forced to face the planet's current champion, Hulk. While no official plot details have been unveiled yet, Marvel did showcase the gladiator Hulk armor at Comic-Con last month, essentially confirming this rumored story line. It is believed that Thor: Ragnarok will take aspects from the iconic Planet Hulk comic book, which many fans have wanted to see turned into a movie.

Tom Hiddleston will be joined by Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Idris Elba (Heimdall) and Anthony Hopkins (Odin), plus Cate Blanchett's Hela and even more new characters. Jeff Goldblum joins the cast as the eccentric Grandmaster, alongside Tessa Thompson, who will bring the classic hero Valkyrie to life on the big screen, and Karl Urban who will add his might to the fray as Skurge. Marvel has set a November 3, 2017 release date for Thor: Ragnarok, which currently doesn't have any direct competition at the box office. Take a look at these new photos from Thor: Ragnarok, and stay tuned for more as production continues in Australia.
