Marvel Studios announced its epic lineup of films during a special live event at the majestic El Capitan theater in the heart of Hollywood today. As part of the event, they announced that the full title for Thor 3 (as many of you have already guessed), is Thor: Ragnarok.

Thor: Ragnarok has officially taken the July 28th, 2017 release slate on the Marvel movie schedule and is confirmed to star Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson and Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki.

While not much was revealed beyond that, Kevin Feige promises that Thor will be taken to another level in his own franchise. He did not go onto explain, but did show off a very brief teaser which showcases the officially fire and brimstone logo.

In the comic books, Ragnarok is a cyborg clone of Thor who is introduced in the Civil War storyline. It was not revealed if Ragnarok will actually be making an appearance in Captain America: Civil War, which arrives a year earlier in 2016. Kevin Feige teased that Ragnarok means the end of all things, setting up what will be an apocalyptic battle for Asgard that could end this trilogy of films for Marvel.
