So much MCU, so little time. Marvel has roared back after having their projects delayed a year thanks to the pandemic and is currently in the middle of its 10th project since January 2021. Even with so many new MCU projects in the last several months, fans are happy to hear that even more projects are planned for the future. One such project is Thor: Love and Thunder, which will premiere in July of this year. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is the very first MCU character to reach a fourth stand-alone film.

Everybody loves Thor, and he's arguably the MCU's most popular character, especially now that Iron Man, Cap, and Black Widow are gone. He's one of the original six Avengers, chopped off Thanos' head (on the second try), and Chris Hemsworth has turned the God of Thunder into one of the most recognizable faces on the planet. With his fourth film just around the corner, fans are curious to see what will happen with the character, especially with Thor's many different ties to virtually every other character in the MCU. Keeping that in mind, regardless of where Thor goes after his fourth outing, it's possible that some other heroes will make an appearance in the upcoming film. Here are some of the best guesses. (Note: this doesn't cover confirmed characters.)

Eternals

There are a couple of different reasons why the Eternals might turn up in Thor 4, even if it's a long shot. But let's think about it -- we know Thor is a cosmic being, just like the Eternals, and that the Guardians of the Galaxy will also be incorporated in the film. The Guardians themselves might not be cosmic, but most of their adventures revolve around cosmic plotlines. It wouldn't have to be a prominent appearance -- a cameo would work just fine. It wouldn't be too hard to believe that Thor and the Guardians might run into the Eternals while searching for their captured brethren (they've certainly run into worse).

Another reason why the Eternals could appear is that Thor 4's villain is set to be Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. While the Celestials themselves aren't technically Gods, they're assuredly as powerful as them and could be a target for Gorr to go after if his name proves true. Arishem was angry about losing one Celestial -- imagine how angry he'd be if Gorr scoured the universe and killed even more of them.

Khonshu (Moon Knight)

Speaking of Gods, this could be an easy set-up. Again, Christian Bale has been cast to play a character called Gorr the God Butcher. While Thor might be the most popular God in the MCU, he's nowhere near the only God, and Marvel is making that pretty clear with their next few projects. Now, this is just speculation. The Moon Knight series is only a couple of episodes in, and audiences don't even know if Khonshu will survive. But if he does, the Egyptian God of the Moon would assuredly be on the list of targets for a man who labels himself a God Butcher.

If rumors are to be believed, Khonshu might not be the only other MCU God that should be worried about Gorr. According to reports, the Wakandan Goddess Bast is set to make an appearance in Thor 4 along with Russell Crowe, who has been confirmed to play Zeus. With all of that in mind, it certainly wouldn't be hard to believe that Gorr would decide to come after Khonshu before (or after) he's done with Thor.

Eitri (Peter Dinklage)

Don't dismiss this guess as it makes a lot of sense. Thor 4 is already confirmed to have Natalie Portman return as Jane Foster, and she'll be taking up the mantle of Lady Thor -- but with what hammer? We can't imagine that Thor would give up Stormbreaker, and the past version of his hammer that he used in Endgame was returned by Steve Rogers. Ergo, Jane needs a hammer, and we know just the character to forge her one.

Loki

We can dream. While it's a very slim chance that we'll see Loki in Thor 4 (especially with his Disney+ show getting renewed for a second season), it would make fans incredibly happy to see the brothers reunited. Loki is, in fact, a God, so it can't be ruled out that Gorr wouldn't try to murder him, but Loki has his hands full with the multiverse splitting open and might have bigger things to deal with than a God Butcher (regardless of how big a deal that is). Even so, that particular fact could be a reason for Loki to appear. He is definitely going to have his hands full, and perhaps he'd go running to his big brother for help to stop Kang. Again, we can dream.
